More about the Army Benevolent Fund
The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army's national charity, providing financial and practical support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

Whilst the Ministry of Defence is responsible for the care and management of casualties during their service, the long-term legacy of their injuries will lie with Service charities like the ABF. For many, this could extend from youth to old age.

The primary role of the Army Benevolent Fund is to be alert to the needs of all of those that have served and subsequently find themselves in difficulty. The Fund provides aid for serving or ex-serving soldiers whether Regular, Territorial or Reserves, as well as their families.

The people they support include those with disabilities or illness, people experiencing homelessness or unemployment, and also the care of older people who have served.
